Global Design News and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design launch the international residential Future House 2024.
Future House is born out of the juxtaposition of residential design and architectural vision aiming to promote and award new and innovative residential projects on a global scale.
“From a shed to a penthouse”—the vision is to present inclusive and pioneering architectural projects that define the present and shape the future of residential design globally. The award program seeks to define the New Domestic Landscape with the best and most innovative cutting-edge designs for residential architecture.
Future House presents a unique opportunity to showcase new, groundbreaking, and cutting-edge private houses, apartments, vacation homes, residential additions, multi-family housing, restoration/renovations, sustainable and affordable housing before a global audience.
Future House International Residential Awards showcase the best and most outstanding new examples of residence created by some of the most renowned international architects and their clients worldwide. The program recognizes excellence in architecture and urbanism from a global point-of-view.

Meet the 2023 Jury
A jury of recognized architecture and design practitioners, business professionals, educators, and critics reviews the submissions and select winning projects for awards. Each submission is also anonymously.

Head Architect at Yanniotis & Associates Architectural Bureau
Constadinos Yanniotis graduated from the School of Architecture NTUA in 2011, following the completion of his studies of Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Patras in 2003. Since 2015, he has been running the Yanniotis & Associates Architectural Bureau as Head Architect, having expertise in Inclusive Design.
The Bureau has been active in the field of Architectural Conceptualization, Design, and Planning since 1977, when it was first established by Yannos and Vassiliki Yanniotis. In its long-lasting activity, the Bureau has completed a significant number of projects in various fields of building design and urban planning, ranging from residential buildings and office spaces to industrial buildings, tourist facilities, golf resorts & sports centers, culture, restoration, and reformation of listed historical buildings, urban planning, interiors, special designs, etc.
Facing new challenges, contemporary design accounts for Inclusive Design Practices, Sustainable Energy Technologies, and Integrated IT Services.

Founder of Ruiz Pardo – Nebreda
Marcelo Ruiz Pardo studied at the Madrid School of Architecture (ETSAM), where he has been an Associate Professor for 12 years. In 2011 he founded Ruiz Pardo – Nebreda and has since designed a number of widely published and award-winning projects. His extensive international experience is a key factor in his practice as he has delivered projects in 22 countries characterized by innovative design thinking, thoughtful materials and structural explorations.

Founder of Jasper Architects
Martin Jasper is an architect and engineer, and Founding Director of Jasper Architects.
He established the studio in 2008 and manages the work of the team internationally, with
offices in Buenos Aires, Berlin, and Asuncion. He is the representative for
the German council for sustainable construction in
Latin America, and his projects have been awarded with architecture and design prizes internationally.

Co-Founder of Kieran Timberlake
Stephen Kieran is a partner and founder at KieranTimberlake, an award-winning architecture firm established in 1984 and a leader in practice-based architectural research and innovative buildings. He received a Bachelor of Art from Yale University, a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, and was a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome, 1980-81. Along with his partner James Timberlake, Stephen received the first Benjamin Latrobe Fellowship for architectural design research from the AIA College of Fellows. KieranTimberlake has received numerous design citations including the 2008 AIA Architecture Firm Award, and the 2010 Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award for Architecture. Kieran has co-authored six books on architecture, including the influential book, Refabricating Architecture. In addition to his architectural practice, Stephen has held professorships at the University of Pennsylvania, University of Washington, Yale University, University of Michigan, and Princeton University.

Evaluation Criteria
Future House winners are selected by a jury organized by Global Design News and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. The jury deliberately uses subjective and aesthetic criteria in its selection.

Eligibility
• Conceptual and unbuilt projects are welcomed.
• All submissions, built or unbuilt, must have been in any given stage either as an initial concept or completed project as of 2018.

How to apply
Please fill out both postal and online applications, noting the following:
• One submission must be completed for each built or unbuilt architectural project.
• Images should be in high-resolution (300 dpi, 1920×1080, up to 6Mb each), and of .jpg /.jpeg /.png format.
• Project descriptions should not exceed 500 words.
• For online applications, after completing the registration and submission process for your project a summary form of your application will be sent to your email.
• For postal applications, images and project descriptions of each project can be sent either via WeTransfer or Dropbox (or any other similar platform), along with a fully completed form at [email protected]
• Entry Fee: €295 per submission. After we receive the filled-out form and check all materials an invoice will be sent to your email.
• Please provide the bank transfer receipt with your payment together with all other materials of your application.
